Volunteer some Time in the garden

If you have time & talent to share, the Garden will put them both to good use! Come alone or bring a friend or two, and meet some others as you work in the Garden. There’s a job for you if you have even a little time to share to keep this sacred space maintained in our community.

If you can dig, plant, or weed … clean or stain the benches … mow the grass … maintain the paths … trim the trees and shrubs … tend to new plantings … propagate older plantings … maintain the brick and stone paths … keep the grounds clean … help out at special events in the Garden … take seasonal photographs of the Garden … videotape events in the Garden … write an article about the Garden in a community newspaper … help out at a fundraising event … be a speaker in the community to tell others about the Garden … there’s plenty to do,  and probably more than we’ve even thought about.

Working in or for the Garden is a great idea for service projects for youth, and Eagle Scout candidates as well -- children, teens and young adults are always welcome to share their energy!

Working in the Garden can be a beautiful way to memorialize a friend who loved his or her garden, or who was dedicated to caring for the earth and the environment. Come with some family or friends, and plant a flowering shrub to commemorate a special event or anniversary.

No matter how you do it – please stop by – alone or with others – to share your time and talent in the Garden!

Please call or email us, and we can talk about opportunities for you to be involved.

PURCHASE A MEMORIAL BRICK

Perhaps you would like to memorialize a special person or event in your life by purchasing a memorial brick to be placed in the Peace Pole Plaza that stands at the entrance to the Sacred Writings Garden.

Your brick will be a permanent testament to the person or event you memorialize. Each brick can memorialize a birthday, an anniversary, or the remembrance of a loved one. You might wish to put a special message of peace in the plaza, or a thank you to a very special someone in your life. Maybe just a word – GRATITUDE or PEACE or HARMONY. No matter your message, each memorial brick will be a gift to the Garden, and will help its vision of to stay alive.

You may have three lines of print, with 21 characters per line, on each brick. A Memorial Brick may be purchased for $60. Call or email the FRIENDS to place your order.

Make a Memorial Gift

You might want to memorialize someone, living or deceased, in the Garden. You can remember your loved ones on those special dates when a memorial would be an appreciated gift or a fitting tribute.

Donate flowering perennials or ornamental grasses for Mother’s Day, Veteran’s Day, Father’s Day, a special birthday, an anniversary, Valentine’s Day, a special religious holiday,  to celebrate the birth of a child, the union of two people you love, or the passing of someone very special. Enhance the Garden through the gift of a bird feeder, bird house, wind chimes, bird bath, trellis, arbor, bench, prayer flags, garden statuary, a peace pole, or an engraved steppingstone.

A booklet of all memorials will be kept in a place of honor in the Garden, and you will receive a memento of your memorial gift as well.

Call or email the FRIENDS about making a Memorial Gift to the Garden.
